Vision, Values & Ethos
text
At Worthinghead Primary School, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and inspired to become the very best version of themselves. Together with our families and local community, we create a school where children are encouraged to be kind, work hard, and grow every day.
Our School Motto
Be Kind, Work Hard and Grow
Mission Statement
At Worthinghead Primary School our aim is to create a secure, happy, caring environment in which individuals value and trust each other; where everyone is helped to realise their full potential and where independence and questioning enable children to acquire skills, knowledge and understanding.
We are all FRIENDS and we wish to instil these attitudes in our children:
Friendship
Responsibility
Inspiration
Empathy
Nurture
Determination
What Drives Our School (Curriculum Intent & Ethos)
- Reading as the Heartbeat: Books are central to our learning. Reading opens windows to the world and helps children explore new ideas.
- Equity and Inclusion: Equality means treating everyone the same, but equity means giving each child what they need to thrive. We use adaptive teaching so every child learns alongside their peers.
- Aspiration and Growth: We celebrate effort, personal progress, and hard work. We encourage children to say, "I can't do it... yet!"
- Restorative Relationships: We view mistakes as a chance to learn. Guided reflection helps children understand their choices and become better people.
- Active Citizenship: We take pride in Wyke, Bradford, and Yorkshire. We build confident young leaders who care for others and respect British Values.
