We are a community school and our admission authority is Bradford Council, who set our admission policy every year. You can read our school’s Admissions Arrangements by clicking here.

We very much hope you feel our school is the right fit for your family. We recommend visiting our Joining Us page (hyperlink) where you can explore our latest school documents, values, and vision.

Our school is organised into three Key Stages:

  • Foundation Stage: Reception
  • Key Stage 1: Years 1 and 2
  • Key Stage 2: Years 3, 4, 5, and 6

Our Published Admission Number (PAN) is 30 children per year group.

  • Nursery Places

Please note that we do not have a nursery on site at Worthinghead Primary School. However, there are several high-quality early years providers and nurseries located nearby in Wyke to support younger children before they start school.

  • Reception Places for 2027

If your child is due to start school in September 2027, you must apply for a primary school place through your local council.

    • Bradford Residents: The application process for children living in Bradford opens on 16th November 2026 and closes on 15th January 2027. You can find our more information about how to complete an application online through the Bradford District School Admissions Page.
    • Calderdale and Kirklees Residents: Families living in neighbouring areas like Calderdale or Kirklees are very welcome to apply for a place at Worthinghead Primary School! You will need to apply using your own local council's school application system and name our school on your form.

  • Transfers from Other Schools (In-Year Admissions)

If you are moving into the local area or wish to transfer your child to Worthinghead during the school year:

    • Contact School First: We strongly recommend contacting our school office before applying. Our team can let you know if the year group you need has available places and organise a friendly school tour for you and your child so you can see if you think Worthinghead is the right place for your family.
    • How to Apply: In-year applications are managed through your local authority. For children living in Bradford, please visit the Bradford In-Year Admissions Page.
    • Explore More: To learn more about welcoming your child to our school family, visit the rest of our Joining Us section (hyperlink) or give us a call to book a visit!
