Our Vision for Reading

Reading is the heartbeat of our whole curriculum. We view books as "mirrors, windows, and sliding glass doors" that allow children to see themselves and explore the wider world. Reading daily helps our children build great vocabularies and love learning. In Early Years and Key Stage 1, we build strong phonics foundation skills using Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised. As children move through school, we use the Ready Steady Readscheme to help children understand texts, ask thoughtful questions, and read for pleasure.
